Saint-Liboire, August 17, 2022 – The EXPO-CHAMPS 2022 team, in collaboration with Farm Credit Canada, is pleased to present the 23rd edition of the event, the largest robotics demonstration dedicated to the agricultural sector in Canada. On August 30th, 31st and September 1st, 2022 in Saint-Liboire, numerous Agtech demonstrations in the field, under the aegis of the Farmers’ Newsletter, will be presented to the public and to the actors of the agricultural sector every day starting at 10:30 a.m. on the East demonstration site. Of the 300 exhibitors, GMABE, Elmec, Nexus Robotics, and Haggerty Agrobotics are among the companies that will participate in these demonstrations of robotic equipment such as Erion and La Chèvre, robots assembled right here in Quebec.
Sowing the future
This year, EXPO-CHAMPS is shaping up to be the must-attend event for innovations in agricultural robotics in Quebec and Canada, with the main mission of encouraging the sector to continue its transition towards automation of its processes: « This is the best way to alleviate the problems faced by today’s farmers and those of future generations, » explains Benoît Saint-Laurent, president of GMABE, a distribution company specializing in the import of innovative technologies that are integrated into sustainable and economical resource management. According to him, between labor shortage, environmental issues and farmers’ quality of life, robots are more than welcome to optimize agricultural yields while being part of the sustainable economy. In this sense, the Raven Omnipower accomplishes technical prowess, performing seeding, spreading and spraying in a fully automated manner.
Largest farm robotics demonstration in the country
Presented by the Farmers’ Newsletter, the commented demonstration of robots in action is a must at the exhibition: « More than innovations, these are concrete solutions, available on the market. EXPO-CHAMPS gives Quebec farmers the opportunity to visualize the work capacity of robots and how they can be implemented on their farms, » says Benoît Saint-Laurent. On the East side, the demonstration will showcase the self-learning tool-carrying robots, capable of filling in for the workforce on many tasks. On the West side, the machines will be dedicated to seeding and tilling, with 10 participating companies.
Highlighting Quebec’s expertise in Agtech is a true commitment to the development of technologies dedicated to the agricultural sector, according to David Messier, General Manager of GoXpo and Société d’Agriculture de Saint-Hyacinthe: « This vision of a modern, sustainable and efficient agriculture has greatly motivated us to offer an edition under the seal of technological innovation. We will be happy to welcome exhibitors and visitors by offering a unique and large-scale program with the theme of SEEDING THE FUTURE/FIERS de SEMER L’AVENIR » -David Messier
