100% COMPOSTABLE LABELS FOR SAVOURA
ONE STEP CLOSER TO ITS GOAL OF ZERO PLASTIC
MIRABEL, December 16, 2020 – One year after the launch of its ZERO PLASTIC OBJECTIVE, the entire SAVOURA team has taken another important step towards reducing the carbon footprint of its tomato production. Thus, the process of replacing all the plastic labels used to identify tomatoes in grocery shops has begun. This operation will eventually lead to the use of 100% compostable labels (Ecolabel) for all tomatoes signed SAVOURA, SAVOURA BIO and SAGAMI. These 100% compostable labels are the result of a new technology certified by the TÜV AUSTRIA Group, which ensures that the labels are manufactured from compostable materials in both industrial and domestic use.
Richard Dorval, President of the SAVOURA Group, said he was very pleased to be able to take this crucial step towards achieving important objectives for the company. « Despite the obstacles that the pandemic could have caused, it was important for us to continue implementing initiatives in the direction of our ZERO PLASTIC OBJECTIVE. Innovation related to improving packaging to reduce our environmental footprint remains a priority for SAVOURA. I am very pleased with this news, which allows SAVOURA to lead the way in our sector with regard to corporate responsibility from an environmental point of view. We are very hopeful that this action will influence all the players in the greenhouse industry in Canada. » Richard Dorval concluded this announcement with these words.
